About
Here is a little bit about redrubberball.ca and me.
redrubberball.ca has been a long time coming, but finally it is a reality.
As an OCAD grad with more than a few years of experience to my name, the idea of Red Rubber Ball Communications had always been just a thought, tucked away in the back of my mind. When I left the corporate agency world after a long career as a successful graphic designer and art director, the right moment arrived… and Red Rubber Ball Communications has been happily bouncing along for the past six years. Working with established clients, some from the corporate agency days, and others from Government and the private sector have made it both challenging and satisfying.
The creative style at Red Rubber Ball could best be described as modern-classic, but fun. Inspired by creatives like Carl Dair, Les Usherwood and David Carson (because typography is one of my favourite things), and designers like Georges Haroutiun, Milton Glaser and Terry Collier – a photographic genius. Not to mention David Ogilvy for being David Ogilvy, the folks at Doyle Dane Bernbach for their legendary Volkswagen ads, as well as Barry Base and Jerry Goodis for putting Canada on the advertising map. And of course Mary Wells Lawrence, who I admittedly didn’t know much about until recently – but wish I had.
As the creative and detail oriented representative of Red Rubber Ball Communications, I’m comfortable handling any project, large or small. I thrive on problem solving and developing conceptual pieces to answer any brief, and I have a keen eye for typography and can negotiate Quark and Indesign with ease.
